Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Adds Boss Battles And Bumping

Bandai Namco has announced a new entry in the Pac-Man Championship Edition series. Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 is currently in development. This new entry will bring back gameplay elements from the original Pac-Man Championship Edition, while also adding a new mode.

Chain Eating will return in Pac-Man Championship Edition 2. The previous iterations rewarded players for gathering ghost trains behind Pac-Man, getting a Power Pellet, and eating them all at once. In the sequel, people will be able to get as many as four ghost trains following Pac-Man. A ghost bumping mechanic will be added in this installment, as a new management technique. One maze in the video shows a teleporter, which allows Pac-Man to warp from one point on the map to another.

Two of Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 modes were introduced. Score Attack will be returning, joined by a new Adventure mode. In Adventure, players have varying objectives and challenges that wouldn’t appear in other versions of Pac-Man. For example, the fruit may move in some mazes. There will also be boss encounters with oversized ghosts.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in September 2016. It will be playable for the first time at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con July 21-24, 2016.
