The Overwatch Echo introduction video has appeared, confirming the robot will be the next playable character in the game. The one and a half minute segment involves Dr. Mina Liao, Echo’s creator, an Overwatch scientist, and a former Omnica Corporation member as she reflects on her legacy. She helped create Omnics and wanted to make the world a better place.
Echo became Dr. Liao’s legacy. We don’t know exactly what happened to the doctor, but we do see Soldier: 76 was the one who welcomed her to the team. We also know Echo is well aware of her role of potentially helping and bringing good to the world.

People should expect to an Overwatch Echo PTR debut on PCs soon, perhaps even by March 19, 2020. After that, she will eventually find her way to other platforms.
If you want to see more of Echo, the “Reunion” short from Blizzcon 2018 is a good start. While it mainly focuses on Ashe and McCree, Echo has a rather notable cameo in the very end of the video. To be more specific, we see interactions between her and McCree that allude to her personality and learn that she had been deactivated for a while.
Overwatch is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
