Hayato was living a normal life until he awoke with amnesia in a world of mages, guildmasters, and random encounters – all just like his video games – in visual novel Ascendant Hearts.
Luckily, it’s not long before Hayato meets Shiori, a mage who shows him the ropes in regards to monster encounters, inventory space, and taking on quests from strangers. Still, there is much danger to be found in the city of Lightshire, and Hayato will have to deal with it all in order to save the city and his friends.
Ascendant Hearts is designed to poke fun at JRPG and MMO tropes, using common themes to create a light and funny mood. Players will meet several different quirky characters throughout the game, as well as other potential friends and allies. The decisions they make around the people and situations they meet will guide them to one of the games four endings.
Ascendant Hearts is expected to release in July of this year. It is currently raising funds on Kickstarter and votes on Steam Greenlight.
