Online-less Initial D: Extreme Stage discounted at Play-Asia

idon.jpgThis week Play-Asia is slashing the price of Initial D: Extreme Stage to $34.90, but this is only for the Asian release. Sega removed the online mode in this version of Initial D: Extreme Stage which means you won’t compete in live networked racing or get access to the downloadble cars. The plus side is the Asian version has an English language manual for easier operation. I can understand Sega nixing the digital manga downloads due to licensing issues, but cutting online play is a strange move since Initial D: Extreme Stage doesn’t even have a split screen two player mode. At least Play-Asia is selling this for less than half the price of the Japanese version. Is online play worth an extra $40 to you?
