Omocat Previews Gawr Gura Merchandise Line

Omocat Gawr Gura

Art studio Omocat is releasing previews of its upcoming Omocat x Hololive English merchandise collection. The latest Omocat line to be shown off is one based on Vtuber Gawr Gura. The previews were released via Tweets from the official account. The line itself launches on December 3, 2021.

The preview tweets show various apparel and accessory items. Their designs come from Omocat, and are based on Gawr Gura’s trademark Shark motif. The items shown include a cap, a track jacket, keychain, and two shirt designs. All are in shades of blue, Gawr Gura’s signature color. Additionally, the track jacket features an illustration of Gura standing against the waves. One shirt design has a close up of Gura’s face, captioned with “Apex Predator.” The cap, keychains, and second shirt all feature a pixel-art design of the character.

Debuting on September 13, 2020, alongside the rest of Hololive English (a.k.a. “Holomyth”), Gawr Gura is based on the concept of a shark that swam to the human world from the lost city of Atlantis. Shark hat in tow, she was one of the first native English-language Vtubers to debut under Hololive. In the year since, Gawr Gura has seen large amounts of support, with over 3.6 million subscribers to her channel. In July 2021 her subscriber count passed that of Kizuna Ai, arguably the originator of the “Virtual Youtuber” term, and one of its pioneering performers.

The Omocat Gawr Gura merchandise collection will be available for sale alongside its Holomyth companions’ lines on December 3, 2021. Gura herself streams regularly from her Youtube channel.
