Official Support for Dreams Ending in September 2023

Dreams Support Ending

Sony studio Media Molecule announced that support for Dreams will soon be ending. All official support for the game creation tool will end on September 1, 2023. After this date, no further updates will be made to the game and Media Molecule will no longer be hosting any community events.

Media Molecule confirmed in an update that official support for Dreams is ending for two reasons. First, the team stated that future updates are unlikely to be sustainable in the long term. Second, the studio will be focusing on developing a new IP, although it has not announced any details on this yet.

All community events will cease as part of this move. This will include the Impy Awards, All Hallows’ Dreams and DreamsCom. Community Jams will also end after the final event in April 2023. However, the in-game Hall of Fame will continue to feature previous content from past Jams.

Dreams will still be available after September 2023, however. Players will also continue to be able to create new projects and share them with others. To facilitate its ongoing survival after this, Media Molecule have confirmed server migration in May 2023. This will affect many online features and will also see two trophies changed as part of the process.

Dreams is available now for PS4.
