When it comes to Odin Sphre: Leifthrasir, Atlus and Vanillaware’s PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita remake of its iconic, 2D RPG, people have plenty of options. The second someone begins the adventure, they make a choice that will leave a huge impact on their adventure. They decide between Classic and Refined mode.

To help people see how big of a difference there is between the two modes, two trailers were released on the PlayStation Blog. Both start in the very beginning of the game, going through Gwendolyn’s introduction, so people properly compare the differences.

Classic mode, shown in the Odin Sphere: Leifthraiser trailer above, is almost exactly the same as the PlayStation 2 game. The only difference is, it looks better. The graphics have been updated for this release.

The Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir Refined mode is the one with all the changes. This version of the game has a new battle system based on Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Dragon’s Crown. It also has new animations for characters, additional voice acting, larger and new areas, and other improvements. It might prove more difficult, since there will be improved AI for enemies and extra bosses.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir will be released on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita next year.
