After months of silence, JoyMasher has released a new trailer for its upcoming dark fantasy 8-bit action platformer Odallus: The Dark Call.

With this, the studio has announced the full set of features that the game will boast once it’s out. It includes: over 50 gross monsters to avoid and kill, eight levels open to exploration, over four hours of gameplay, and two endings. There will also be a Veteran Mode added to the game some time after its launch.

Odallus: The Dark Call is inspired by retro exploration / action games such as Ghosts’n Goblins, Demon’s Crest, and Castlevania. You play as a warrior named Haggis who returns from war to find a dark lord has ravaged his peaceful village, and so he sets out to put an end to him. The story is as simple as that, the challenges across the game’s eight areas are not – they’re NES hard.

Odallus: The Dark Call is out now for Steam. You can find out more about the game on its website.
