NIS America Still Hold The Publishing Rights To Previous Atelier Games

Recommended Videos

Yesterday, we reported an ESRB rating that indicated a U.S. release for Atelier Ayesha, with Tecmo Koei as the game’s U.S. publisher. Tecmo Koei acquired Atelier series developer, Gust, back in 2011.

While Tecmo Koei may be the U.S. publisher for Atelier Ayesha, NIS America still hold the publishing rights to the previous Atelier games that they’ve already released in North America. We brought the question to NISA upon noticing that none of the previous three Atelier games are available on their online store.

“In regards to our online store, we actually are just completely out of stock at the moment of all the previous Atelier games,” Marketing Coordinator, Ryan Phillips, shared with us. “If we do a reprint/reorder of the games we previously put out with us as publisher, we will still be the publisher.”

Prior to acquiring Gust and becoming the U.S. publisher for Atelier Ayesha, Tecmo Koei served as the series’ distributor in North America for NISA. Tecmo Koei will also be publishing Atelier Ayesha in Europe in Q1 2013.
