Nintendo’s latest My Nintendo Store European additional is a callback to the company’s roots. It used to make playing cards, and now people can actually buy some sets more easily. Both Super Mario-themed and standard Hanafuda cards have joined the array of traditional playing cards in the storefront.
There are three different Nintendo Hanafuda card decks available. There are two that are Super Mario themed and £22.50 each, with the difference being one having a black back and the other’s being red. The third deck is a President Hanafuda set, which is £18 and a deck of standard cards.
Here’s a better look at all three decks.
There is also a My Nintendo reward connected to these items. People who spend 400 Platinum Points and pay for shipping will get a set of eight postcards that are Mario Hanafuda-themed.
This Mario Hanafuda postcard set is now available as a #MyNintendo Reward for 400 Platinum Points + shipping costs, while stocks last!

For those who want Nintendo Hanafuda cards, but don’t want or aren’t able to buy a physical deck, there is an alternative. Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics offers sets! As you play through the Nintendo Switch game, you can unlock Nintendo-themed Hanafuda and standard playing cards. As a bonus, both the President Hanafuda and Super Mario-themed deck being sold through Europe’s My Nintendo Store are identical to the default and unlockable Hanafuda cards in the Switch collection.
