The Nintendo 3DS sold “nearly 540,000” units in the U.S. during the month of November, Nintendo shared with Siliconera in an e-mail today.
As previously reported, 250,000 units of that figure was sold during Black Friday week. While 540,000 isn’t a bad figure, it’s a fair bit lower than last year’s 795,000 number.
Nintendo say the 3DS’ lifetime sales in the U.S. are at nearly 6.5 million to date.
Meanwhile, in its first week on store shelves, the Wii U sold over 425,000 units, nearly matching the Wii’s first-week sales of 475,000 in November 2006. New Super Mario Bros. U sold 243,000 copies during the same period, which gives it an attach rate of 60% with the new console.
With regard to Nintendo’s older systems, Nintendo DS sold over 370,000 units in the U.S. The DS is close to crossing the 53-million mark in the U.S. in the next few days. Meanwhile, the Wii sold 420,000 units in November, bringing it to 40 million units in the U.S.
