Nintendo have released the scheduled firmwmare update for the Nintendo 3DS that allows recording of 3D video and adds more games to the Street Pass Mii Plaza as well. Additionally, the system update also allows you to transfer downloaded Nintendo 3DS games to a different system.

Improvements have also been made to the Nintendo eShop, some of which Nintendo discussed at their last investor Q&A. Scanning a QR code for a product will navigate you to that product’s eShop page. The eShop can now also store credit card information.

This update to the eShop was also supposed to allow publishers to release demos of their games, as well as add-on content for games that you can purchase from the eShop. In Japan, Capcom have plans to release a Monster Hunter 3G demo on the eShop at some point.

Update: In North America, the firmware update also adds a “Nintendo Zone” icon to the Nintendo 3DS’ main menu. Nintendo Zone is an app that allows you to connect to public Wi-Fi hotspots meant to be compatible with the 3DS and receive SpotPass content through them.
