The new online mode is called ‘Battle for the Ninja Box’, and takes place between four players trying to hold onto the Ninja Box as long as possible, with whoever holds it the longest winning at the end of the time limit.

The biggest factor to winning is strategically using your nukenin gadgets to attack the player holding the Ninja Box. Traps will also deal damage to playeres unlucky enough to get near them. Aim for the top with your nukenin, and avoiding other players’ nukenin!

Don-chan will join as a nukenin gadget that can be placed down to deal damage with fireworks. Don-chan’s finishing move, ‘Let’s Cheer On Everyone, don!’, increases the stats of all nukenin with the power of taiko beats. As such, Don-chan is a balanced type nukenin that will surely be useful in online battles.

Ninja Box is available on Nintendo Switch in Japan.
