Nijisanji Vtuber Kanae Chosen to Sing Overtake Anime Theme Song

Kanae, a virtual liver and Vtuber associated with Nijisanji, was chosen to perform the opening song for Overtake, an upcoming racing anime set to begin airing October 1, 2023. The title of the track is “Tailwind.” This was announced on the official anime social media account.

A video message from Kanae was included with the announcement. He uses his 3D model for the announcement. In the message, Kanae introduced himself and reveals the decision to have him sing the opening theme. He said that like everyone else, he has not yet seen the anime, but is very excited to view it when it airs. Then, he asked everyone to watch it together with him as well. He also mentioned that it would make him happy if the audience loved the song along with the anime.

Kanae is a Nijisanji Vtuber with 1.21 million subscribers on his YouTube channel as of time of writing. He has been with the company since May 2018.

Overtake will be a collaboration production between Kadokawa and Troyca. The story revolves around Koya Madoka, a freelance photographer who makes a connection with F4 driver Haruka Asahina. An official website for the anime already opened with initial details.

The Overtake anime will begin airing in Japan on October 1, 2023.
