By The Twitter account for Night in the Woods, an adventure/exploration game about a college drop-out returning home to find her friends and town are no longer the same, tweeted that the game would be coming out this Fall.
Night in the Woods stars Mae, a woman who just wants to be with her friends, break things, and keep her old lifestyle. Her life, and everyone in it, are changing despite what she wants. Her home town, Possum Springs, is also being affected by some mysterious thing that lurks in the woods.
The player doesn’t have to rush out to discover what that thing is, as the town is filled with characters to talk to, activities to undertake, and objects to be found. This came from the developer’s desire to make the town and its people feel real while giving players the chance to explore Mae’s aimless nature.
Night in the Woods was very successful on Kickstarter in October 2013, raising four times its funding goal.
