The official NieR series social media account posted some images to celebrate the seventh anniversary of NieR Automata, and that also meant a new sales milestone update. The game now passed eight million in sales.
Here’s the first social media post about the sales update. It confirmed that this is a worldwide figure that includes both digital and physical copies of the game. The art for the image showed 2B alongside the figure.
There’s also a NieR Automata short video celebrating the seventh anniversary and eight million sales announcement too. It shows 2B and 9S at the Amusement Park while fireworks appear highlighting the accomplishments.
The last sales figure update arrived back in April 2023. At that time, the game passed 7.5 million copies sold. It was at 6.5 million copies as of June 2022. To offer more context, it was at 1.5 million copies as of May 2017.
Another hallmark piece of merchandise appeared as the seventh anniversary approached. Onkyo is selling wines based on 2B and 9S. They were aged in barrels while songs from the soundtrack played.
NieR Automata is available on the PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Windows PC. There is also an anime adaptation that is available to stream via Crunchyroll.
