Kotobukiya revealed two new 1/8 scale ARTFX J figures based on 2B and 9S from the NieR Automata Ver1.1a anime. Pre-orders for both figures have also opened worldwide. Kotobukiya’s own online shop is only applicable to those in Japan. However, people residing outside the country can place orders on other sites like AmiAmi, which supports worldwide shipping.

While both figures will look the best when paired together, Kotobukiya will sell them separately. Despite the difference in the figure bases, both products will have the same tax-inclusive MSRP of 25,300 yen (~$161.80).

The character figures will be accompanied by their respective Pods. Each set will also come with a swappable alternate unmasked head part that shows the characters’ eyes as based on the anime version.

Here are some of the sample images for both figures, with a focus on comparisons between the masked and unmasked head variants:

The Ver1.1a anime versions of NieR Automata characters have been frequently used by numerous companies across Japan as models for their new figures. Earlier in July 2024, Proof revealed its own 1/7 scale static figures of 2B and 9S that it will release in December 2024. Just like Kotobukiya’s ARTFX J, Proof’s figures will also come with swappable unmasked head variants.

The 1/8 scale ARTFX J figure of the NieR Automata anime version of 2B will appear first in January 2025. The 9S figure will follow suit the month after in February 2025.
