NGP To Come In Two Models, With And Without 3G

Sony’s successor to the PSP, codenamed “Next Gen Portable” (NGP) will come in two models, Andrew House, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, told Eurogamer in an interview.

“The first thing to clarify, which I’m not sure the presentation did a perfect job of doing today, is that all of the devices will have wi-fi capability; a separate SKU will have 3G,” House clarified during the interview. He went on to say that Wi-Fi — by extension of being widely available — was the most important aspect of connectivity, and that 3G would be a subset of that feature.

House also states that while Sony didn’t announce a price for the NGP after its reveal at their press conference in Tokyo, they’re aiming for “an affordable price that’s appropriate for the handheld gaming space.”
