Last year, documents and concept art pertaining to a Tomb Raider reboot underway at Crystal Dynamics made their way onto the net via a leak at the developer. The documentation indicated that "Tomb Raider 9" would essentially be a survival-horror game, dating back to Lara’s younger days, a la the beginning of Tomb Raider IV.

Today, Crystal Dynamics announced that the next Tomb Raider game, titled Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be a digital download release, and will be debuted behind closed doors at GDC on March 9th. “This is a really exciting project for Crystal Dynamics, we have created something completely new and very different to what people might be expecting,” said Darrell Gallagher, General Manager of Crystal Dynamics.

Whether or not Guardian of Light is the same game the leaked documentation pertained to remains to be seen. According to their Twitter feed, Crystal Dynamics are also working on a second project apart from Guardian of Light.
