New Super Mario Bros. 2 will receive new downloadable Coin Rush stages at some point in time. No announcements pertaining to this were made at last night’s Nintendo Direct presentation, so Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, took to Twitter to shed some light on the matter.

Since it’s only been about 10 days since the U.S. and European releases of New Super Mario Bros. 2, Iwata asks for a little more time before any DLC information is announced. What he does say is that a DLC announcement will be made worldwide at the same.

Last night, Nintendo also announced that players have collectively racked up 57.6 billion coins in New Super Mario Bros. 2 thus far. Advanced play videos that will teach players how to collect coins better are coming soon.
