New Phantasy Star Online 2 Video Shows How Hard Super Hard Mode Is

Recommended Videos

The latest video from Sega’s Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 2 shows off the October update that we’d touched on previously. The beginning of the video shows Super Hard mode which will encompass areas from the Forest to Floating Continents.

You’ll also get to see the new skill levels that have been bumped up to 65 – maxing skills to the new max will net you two additional skills to play around with in battle. There will also be new rare enemies, and new rare “Interrupt Events”. Interrupt events are similar to the Public Quest system spearheaded by Warhammer Online and now seen in many MMO’s – In Phantasy Star Online’s case, a random event will occur that asks players to attack, defend and so forth objectives.

The white dragon/lizard-like monster is the fabled Tagamikazuchi that players can battle against. It looks like it’s a lightning-based monster, able to send out spikes of lightning across the ground at enemies. Those costumes and new dance/hair items are part of the scratch card system’s “Ultimate Fighter” series.

We still don’t have any word on that Puella Magi Madoka Magica collaboration for the game beyond the knowledge that Madoka and Homura costumes are coming alongside a Kyubey mascot, so we’ll be on the lookout for that!
