Four new games have been added to the Genesis library on Nintendo Switch Online. They are Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition, Pulseman, Kid Chameleon and Flicky. They are available now as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription.
Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition is the Genesis version of the fighting game classic. It’s the version that first made M. Bison, Balrog, Vega and Sagat playable. It’s also the first version of Street Fighter II that allowed for mirror matches. This Genesis release is also notable for adding a number of improvements based on Street Fighter II Turbo.
Kid Chameleon is a 2D platformer starring a young boy who uses masks to help traverse hundreds of levels. Flicky is the Genesis port of a 1984 arcade platformer, notable for being the debut of the animals seen in classic Sonic the Hedgehog games. Both games have appeared in previous Sega collections.
The final new Genesis game is Pulseman. It’s a 2D platformer starring a robot boy taking on a mad scientist with electric powers. Most notably, this game is an early Game Freak title. Most of its staff would go on to create Pokemon, including director Ken Sugimori, designer Satoshi Tajiri and composer Junichi Masuda.
