The official Square Enix YouTube account has released a new trailer for NieR Re[in]carnation. Announced for smartphones during the NieR 10th Anniversary stream on March 29, 2020, this game is currently in development. This new trailer shows off beautiful, new landscapes and features a new song. More importantly, it actually shows the mobile game in action.
The untitled protagonist character of the smartphone title is seen traversing a variety of different areas, all seemingly interconnected. A spirit follows them as they navigate these new areas before the trailer cuts short, just as the character reaches a set of stairs within sandy ruins. A new track is also featured in this trailer that carries the same, wistful tone as other songs featured in the NieR series.

This mobile game is developed by Applibot. CyDesignation, a subsidiary of Cygames, is handling the character designs. Outside of this new game play trailer, little else is known about the upcoming smartphone title.
Square Enix currently has plans to hold a 10th Anniversary broadcast to celebrate the anniversary of NieR Gestalt/Replicant on April 22, 2020. Yosuke Saito and Yoko Taro will appear on the broadcast.
NieR Re[in]carnation is in development for Apple iOS and Android.
