Nintendo introduced a new wave of Mario pins to celebrate the Super Mario Bros 35th anniversary. Limited to 3,500 winners, fans in Japan will need to participate in online challenges to earn points, then enter to win the pins via a lottery system. Fans can choose them individually or go for the full set. We have translated the overall details on the step-by-step process on how to enter below.
In celebration of the Super Mario Bros 35th anniversary, Nintendo has been holding all sorts of promos and giveaways. Anyone can enter to win the newest wave of Mario pins as long as they follow the steps. Nintendo also notes that these pins are exclusive to this promotion.
How To Enter
(Note: Entrants will need to sign up for a Japanese My Nintendo Account)
- Log in to the special website for the pin set using your My Nintendo account and accept the terms of service.
- Complete the various challenges to earn points. Challenges include participating in the various, timed-exclusive online events for games like Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart Tour, and Super Mario Bros 35. Once you build up your score, you can then enter to win the Mario pins in a variety of ways.
- Entrants can choose the pins individually or choose the full set. It costs 1 point to enter for each pin or 6 points to enter for the full set. Winners will be notified by email after the contest ends.
A helpful tip: those who register Super Mario 3D All-Stars or the upcoming Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury to their Nintendo Account will immediately gain 6 points, allowing them to apply for the pins quickly. This works with either physical or digital editions of the games.
Lastly, there are three free wallpapers to redeem as well. Only those who enter to win the Mario pins can access them after they’ve accumulated enough points. However, redeeming the wallpapers will not reduce your score, so you can still use those points where it counts most.
Nintendo held a contest for a Super Mario Bros collectible pin set back in September 2020 that sold out lightning fast, despite being gated behind several missions to qualify. Considering that set was labeled as “wave 1” available through December 22, 2020, we could see this new pin set come west soon–perhaps after the new year.
