New LovePlus Delay Makes For A Lonely Christmas, But A Great Valentine’s Day

New LovePlus was supposed to release on December 8th in Japan, but that date has been pushed back. Konami have announced that the game is now planned for release on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2012.

Konami had a whole bunch of New LovePlus items and Nintendo 3DS bundles with art books and soundtrack CDs planned for the game’s launch. Plans to release those still exist, but they’ve all been pushed to February 14th.

The reason for the delay appears to be that the development team requires more time to fine-tune the game. New LovePlus sports features like taking augmented reality pictures with your girlfriend and a “Boyfriend Lock,” which allows her to recognize you through the 3DS’ inner-facing camera.
