The plot of Xicatrice involves humanity awakening to supernatural powers approximately 100 years ago. While some people used their powers for the improvement of society, others abused them. To protect and educate each new generations of super-powered individuals, a special class was created, called RAUT (Reserve Anti-abnormal Unusual-talent Team).

The story of the game begins in 2023, when a teacher who lost their powers as a result of an incident is assigned to the class RAUT 302. As the teacher, the player is tasked with coaching each of the seven students individually and as class, as they learn to use their superpowers in battle. The students will face creatures created by negative human emotions, as well as criminals who take advantage of their powers in turn-based combat.

Additionally, if the we fail to help the student overcome their emotional scars, they might be overwhelmed by their own superpowers and meet a bitter end. Each student’s ending will change depending on player input when leading them.
