Ghost in the Shell is getting a new animated film in 2015 (no, not the live-action movie with Scarlett Johansson), and the franchise’s official YouTube channel shared a teaser trailer containing the key visual for the movie.
The new movie is being produced in celebration of 25 years of Ghost in the Shell. It will premiere in Japan sometime early this Summer, and will be handled once again by the Production I.G. studio, which has a long history with the franchise.
Tow Ubukata, who wrote the Ghost in the Shell: Arise movies, will be writing the screenplay for the new film as well. Meanwhile, Kazuya Nomura (Robotics;Notes anime) will serve as director. Japanese recording artist Cornelius (GITS: Arise) will provide music.
