New Super Mario Bros. 2 won’t be the only retail game available for download this month via the Nintendo eShop in Europe.
Starting August 17th, Nintendo of Europe will have New Super Mario Bros. 2, New Art Academy, and Freakyforms Deluxe Your Creations, Alive! on the eShop. NOE add that “many more Nintendo 3DS games are also on the way in the near future”.
As incentive to pick up the download versions of these games, download purchasers will get double the normal Stars for their Club Nintendo account when the games are registered. In order for this to happen, you’ll need to link your 3DS to your Club Nintendo account. This offer will last for a month.
Nintendo of America haven’t announced their plans for download games other than New Super Mario Bros. 2, but we’ll keep an eye out for when they do. Thus far, the only other retail game that has been confirmed as a Nintendo eShop download in North America is Xseed’s Unchained Blades (which is download-only).
