New Alan Wake Is For Xbox Live Arcade

Remedy Entertainment is working on a new entry in the Alan Wake series. Details are being saved for a reveal during Spike’s VGA award show, but Microsoft spokesperson Major Nelson announced this Alan Wake game will be an Xbox Live Arcade release. Unlike the downloadable episodes, Alan Wake for XBLA will not require the retail game and is a standalone title.

Alan Wake follows a thriller writer trapped in his own novel. The game is played from a third person perspective and broken into episodes as if you were playing a serial drama. While you have firearms, Alan’s most useful weapon is his flashlight which you shine on enemies to remove the darkness that possesses people… and other things.
