Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, the strategy remake from Nintendo and developer WayForward, has a new release date. The game is now slated to launch on April 8, 2022.
Announced at E3 2021, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is a reworking of Game Boy Advance titles Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising. The first two games in the franchise to see release in the West, they’re part of a Wars series that dates back to the Famicom era in Japan. Players lead the Orange Star army against foes in tactical battles with tanks, infantry, planes and ships.
Nintendo originally slated Re-Boot Camp for release in December 2021. It delayed the game to Spring 2022 in October for more development time. Until the Nintendo Direct announcement, the company had given no specific timing for the Re-Boot Camp release.
The new release date announcement was part of the February 9, 2022 Nintendo Direct. In the presentation, Nintendo showcased upcoming titles like Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes and Mario Strikers: Battle League. The presentation also showed footage of the game, which you can check out below.
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp will launch on April 8, 2022 on Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe. There’s no word yet on a Japanese release.
