Neon Genesis Evangelion Collaborates With Honda

Neon Genesis Evangelion Honda Collaboration

In a strange, but not completely unexpected turn of events, Neon Genesis Evangelion is holding a collaboration with Honda. A website has been opened with a March 31, 2020 reveal date set on the timer, but no further information has been revealed as to what this collaboration will entail. Fans will need to keep their eyes peeled over the next few days to see what this crossover will have in store. [Thanks, Dengeki!]

Several collaboration videos have also been uploaded to the official Japanese Honda YouTube. Each of these videos features series protagonists Asuka Langley, Shinji Ikari, and Rey Ayanami. The Honda Civic Hatchback is also shown in these videos, as this is a collaboration event after all. During this campaign, collaboration details will be revealed on the official website and with the シン・アオヤマ作戦 and #シン・シビ hashtags. The collaboration website also links to the official Neon Genesis Evangelion website.

This collaboration comes just a few months before the release of Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0, or Shin Evangelion. The eagerly anticipated animated film is scheduled to release in Japan on June 27, 2020.

Neon Genesis Evangelion originally began its run in Japan in October 1995. Evangelion: Death (True)2, the edit of 1997’s Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth, appeared in 1998. The End of Evangelion appeared in 1997.
