Mutant Mudds Developer To Announce New Nintendo 3DS Game In January

Mutant Mudds developer Renegade Kid are working on a 3DS game titled Treasurenauts, which was supposed to be released via the Nintendo eShop this year; however, studio head Jools Watsham reveals on his blog that the game has been delayed into 2014 for quality purposes.

“Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong,” Watsham writes on his blog. “The game means a lot to us, and we want to do it right. We need more time to make it the game we want it to be. We’re aiming for a Q1 2014 release, and will have information on a more accurate date soon.”

Additionally, Watsham reveals, Renegade Kid are working on another new Nintendo 3DS title that will be announced in January. This is in addition to Cult County (pictured above), a first-person 3DS horror game that was revealed earlier this year, and is currently in progress, bringing it a total of three 3DS titles being developed in parallel.

Amidst these developments, work on Mutant Mudds 2 has temporarily been put on hold, as Renegade Kid feel it is “healthier/better” for them to work on new titles in between Mutant Mudds and Mutant Mudds 2. This, they believe, will allow them to gain some valuable perspective, which will result in a better sequel.

Mutant Mudds is already available on Nintendo 3DS, PC and Wii U. The game is headed to PlayStation 3 and Vita next for $9.99, with Cross-Buy and Cross-Save features.
