Curve Digital is publishing Peter Moorhead’s short adventure game story Murder for Windows, Mac, Linux, and iPad and Android tablets on October 21st.
It’s set in a futuristic Tokyo that is inspired by the works of cyberpunk greats like Masamune Shirow (Ghost in the Shell), Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira), and Neal Stephenson.
The story itself has you following Lieutenant Motomeru Minori of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police as she pursues a very unusual and dangerous case. On grander terms, it’s about the intersection of morality and sentience in a future where both have become commodities.
As with Moorhead’s previous game, Murder will be a “minimal” take on the point-and-click adventure format, focusing on environmental storytelling and achieving a “confident cinematic flair.”
That said, each of the characters you can meet in Murder have full personalities with voice acting bringing them to life. Meeting and interacting with them will play a big part in the telling of the story.
