Your single shot will kill your enemies in puzzle shooter Murasaki, which will release on May 13th on Steam and Playism, but they’re better used to set up a chain reaction of collisions that will result in screen-clearing explosions.
Players can only fire a single bullet at a time as they consider a screen filled with dangerous obstacles, so they’ll have to choose their shots carefully. Depending on which character they play as – Kairi or Satsuki – those shots will go long range and slow or short range and quick, which will also need to be taken into consideration.
The screen fills with damaging orbs in a hurry, but players can shoot large blocks to create explosions. These blocks move a short distance and will bounce off the sides of the screen before they detonate, which will have to be taken into account. If they bounce into other large blocks, they will set off chain reactions of larger explosions. Each player also has access to a powerful, unique bomb attack that will help them when the screen gets a little too full.
Against bosses, players will need to use the chained explosions and other means to destroy the boss’ shots. Doing so will turn the boss’ attack against them, which is how the player damages them. By playing in certain ways, the player can unlock secret phases and dialogue from the bosses as well.
