Kan Gao, aka Freebird Games, has released his surreal short story A Bird Story for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This is the next game after the highly acclaimed To The Moon.

A Bird Story is about an hour long and is completely wordless. Gao calls it an “espresso execution,” meaning its potent and won’t waste your time.

A Bird Story is something of a little pixel animation that incorporates interactivity and game elements in the telling of its narrative. It is a standalone story, with its own beginning and ending,” Gao writes.

It follows a boy who finds a bird with a broken wing, and then goes on an adventure between dreams and reality. It’s set in the To The Moon universe, and in fact, the boy grows up to be the patient that Dr. Watts and Dr. Rosalene treat in episode 2 of the series.

You can purchase A Bird Story on Steam, GOG.com, and the Humble Store. Find out more about it on its website.
