Last month, Koei Tecmo asked fans about a possible enhanced port for Monster Rancher 2. This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine has revealed that the enhanced port is in the works and coming to Switch and smartphones this fall in Japan.
When Koei Tecmo asked about the port, the company essentially asked fans if they would like to see Monster Rancher 2 get a similar treatment as we saw in the port of the first Monster Rancher. Details are still light for now, but the previews for the magazine confirmed that the enhanced Monster Rancher 2 port will feature over 400 monsters.
Furthermore, the enhanced port will feature various improvements based on fan feedback. Fans were asked to provide feedback about the finer points of the game and things they hope can be improved.
While no specific details were shared, for now, the first Monster Rancher game had quite a bit of adjustment and improvements, including a change to the CD database used to create monsters due to the lack of CD drives in the new platforms.
Monster Rancher 2Â will release for the Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android in Japan in Fall 2020. The game originally released for the PlayStation in February 1999.
