Capcom announced today that Monster Hunter X, their latest title in the hunting action series, has already broken the mark for three million units shipped in Japan.

The 3 million figure includes copies sent to retailers, along with download cards and sales of the download version at the Nintendo eShop. The new milestone was announced roughly three weeks after their previous milestone of 2 million units shipped earlier this month, just days after its November 28 release.

Moving forward, Capcom plans to roll out a number of initiatives, beginning in January 2016 with “Monster Hunter Festa’16”, an event held in five major cities across Japan, and including the Universal Studios Japan attraction “Monster Hunter the Real”, all with the aim of generating interest across diverse user segments.

Monster Hunter X is currently available for Nintendo 3DS in Japan.
