At the Summer Game Fest 2024, Capcom shared the second trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds showcasing new gameplay as well as the new Balahara monster. Additionally, Capcom confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds will feature crossplay.
The Balahara is a Leviathan type monster that fights using the dunes of the desert to his advantage. The new monster can create pits of quicksand to ensnare players. The new gameplay trailer also showed the player hunter fighting while riding the Seikret bird mount. While melee weapons seem to have a limited moveset, bowgun users will be able to shoot with some level of freedom while moving atop the beast.

The new footage also confirmed that the playable hunter will also speak during cutscenes. A glimpse of this could be seen in the previous trailer shared during the latest May 2024 State of Play, alongside the Palico talking.
Additionally, series Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto confirmed that a new trailer will appear at opening night of Gamescom in August 2024, and the first public hands playable demo will also be available at the event. Capcom confirmed the addition of crossplay to Monster Hunter Wilds in a tweet made by the official social media account.
Monster Hunter Wilds is currently in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC and is set to release simultaneously in 2025.
