Capcom revealed that the update that will usher in the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak expansion will be 13GB. The update will add content from the paid expansion into the game. Those who do not purchase the Sunbreak expansion will need to update their game regardless in order to access online features. Additionally, the update will include balance adjustments for various weapons in Monster Hunter Rise. However, the official statement did not mention which weapons would see balance changes.

Capcom also reveals that even if consumers have not purchased Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, they will be able to use Item Packs and Appearance Change tickets. This is another feature players will have access to, alongside balance changes, that does not require the purchase of the expansion.

Outside of Capcom announcing how big the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak update will be, a Monster Hunter Digital Event will appear on May 10, 2022. The event will reveal more information about Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. A new promotional trailer will appear during the livestream. Additionally, it will feature a look at new Hunter actions and more monsters. The broadcast will be held via Twitch and YouTube.

Monster Hunter Rise is available for PC and Nintendo Switch. Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak will release for PC and Nintendo Switch on June 30, 2022. A Digital Deluxe Edition is available to pre-order.
