Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s Dual Blades And Demon Mode

Recommended Videos

Capcom have shared weapon details for the Dual Blades weapon in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, along with screenshots of the game.

As a class derived from the Sword and Shield, the Dual Blades have a rather short reach; and since you give up the shield in exchange for another sword, you can’t block incoming attacks. However, on all other fronts, the Dual Blades prove to be a very impressive weapon – especially when they are put in the right hands.

Aside from its main set of attack strings and fast combos, one of the Dual Blades’ most unique and useful features is the Demon Mode. When activated, this devastating mode drastically increases the power and effectiveness of your attacks; it also fills up the Demon gauge whenever you hit a monster. When the Demon gauge is completely full, it activates the Archdemon Mode, which enhances your attacks even more! This also stays active even after you deactivate the Demon Mode, but not for too long.

The only thing to keep in mind here is that Dual Blades rely heavily on stamina. Once you activate Demon Mode, you will start consuming stamina pretty fast – and using the Demon Dodge will drain your stamina even faster. So, make sure you either have a good supply of meat, mega dash juices or even an armor set that helps counter stamina loss.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be released on March 19th in North America and March 22nd in Europe. A demo will be made available for the 3DS and Wii U on February 21st.
