The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Tactical Stance changes up how gameplay and fights work in this title. Find out how to use the MW3 Tac Stance properly and turn it on so you can benefit in fights.
Modern Warfare 3 Tactical Stance Explained
I like to think of the Modern Warfare 3 Tactical Stance like it is a new way to aim down the sights. You know how you usually hold down the left trigger with a controller to pull up your gun and aim more accurately? Well, Tac Stance is essentially like a new version of this. But instead of looking down the iron sights or scope, you have an angled approach.
It is best to look at the screenshot I took below as a reference. It tilts your gun to a weird angle, but you still have crosshairs and a way to shoot. At first glance, it may seem really odd and not make a whole lot of sense for why you would even use this in the first place. However, there is a specific use for it, and that is with sliding.
You can slide and angle your gun in Tac Stance to fire at enemies while sliding. This makes it so much easier to fire at foes while you are in a pretty vulnerable position. This is also great for those daily objectives you might receive in the game that ask you to take out enemies while sliding.
How to use Tac Stance in MW3
If you want to activate Tac Stance in MW3, there is one way to do it. Press down on the D-Pad on your controller while you are aiming down the sights using the left trigger, and your gun will switch to the weird angled position shown in the screenshot I took below.
If you don’t like this or want to turn it off, you can press down on the D-Pad again to switch back to the usual position. Just make sure not to accidentally press right on the D-Pad, as that changes weapon fire modes like from auto to semi-auto and so on.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
