Modder Makes Hideo Kojima Playable In Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

Recommended Videos

As Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is now available on PC the modders are in full force. And it’s them you have to thank for making Hideo Kojima playable in the game.

It’s a fairly simple trick that replaces the Snake model with the Kojima one inside the game. It works pretty well if you ignore the slightly strange defection around Kojima’s cheeks, as seen in the video above.

This skin swamp has been made possible by a modder going by the name “Sergeanur”, who released a number of tools that allows people to unpack the game’s .g0s files and really rip it open. It’s best you don’t meddle with them unless you really know what you’re doing.

YouTuber “Trikz Me” released a video footage of themselves playing as Kojima in the game, as you can see above. Kojima is quite the badass, it would seem.

They also created a tutorial so that you can do it yourself (if you’re brave enough) in video form as well as in a raw text document (if you have a Facepunch account you can view it in the forums). All the links that they refer to in that tutorial can be found in this list of MGS V: GZ modding tools. But, as said, it’s best not to mess with the game files unless you have some idea of what you’re doing.
