Bandai Namco producers Jin Okubo and Akifumi Chiba left a video message for the global release of Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. Maxiboost ON, which was announced for PS4 worldwide the other day. In it, they talk about the game’s three features, and that the game will get a first gameplay look at Taipei Game Show in February. [Thanks, Bahamut!]
The two producers explain that the game is not only a port of the arcade version of Extreme VS. Maxiboost ON, but is also being released as a 10th anniversary celebration for the Extreme VS. series of games, which began service in arcades in 2010. The reason why it’s headed to consoles now is that they’ve heard the voices of fans who’ve wanted a console version, and thus decided to create this port.
The first point is the number of units – the previous home console release had 93 units to play with, compared to the 183 units available in Maxiboost ON. Regarding stages, players will be able to play the same stages as in the arcade version. Secondly, the game is being devleoped by Bandai Namco Studio, the developer behind the arcade version. The game’s balance is based on the arcade version’s latest version.
Finally, they ask to wait a bit longer to hear more about the date of release and pricing.
As for the special stage event at Taipei Game Show, it will be held on February 7, 2020 at 2pm Taiwan Time (10pm PT). Live gameplay will be shown off, and the event will be livestreamed on Youtube.
