Koei Tecmo has revealed more details on the upcoming mobile release of Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 at TGS 2020. The biggest highlight shown at the stream is the addition of more playable characters that were never available in the console release.
Ken’s Rage 2 was originally released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. It first launched in Japan in December 2012 and the rest of the world followed suit in 2013. The new mobile release will add the Colonel, Boss Fang, Hyui, and Shuren as playable characters; they were never added into the playable roster in the console games, even with DLC.
The mobile Ken’s Rage 2 will retain the main Legend mode that retells the Fist of the North Star storyline, but with a mobile twist. A stage will be split into multiple waves, with the final wave usually culminating in a boss fight. Episodes are planned to be gradually added weekly, in order to emulate the weekly comic magazine issues.
A new Quest mode will be also available in this mobile game. A party of up to three characters can be formed in this mode, and you will be able to switch characters on the go just like in the Warriors Orochi games.
The mobile version of Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 will be available on Android and iOS devices in 2020 in Japan.
