Following Sony’s reveal that it won’t be showing up at E3 2020, its second year skipping the event in a row, Microsoft has confirmed it will appear. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer took to Twitter to say the team is “hard at work on E3.”
Spencer’s Microsoft E3 2020 confirmation didn’t discuss what the company’s plans will be for 2020. For E3 2019, Microsoft had an Xbox media briefing, which was shared online, and held a series of Inside Xbox presentations. It also held an Xbox FanFest ahead of the event from June 9-10, 2019, which gave people a chance to play Xbox One games offsite.
Here is Spencer’s statement regarding the Microsoft E3 2020 plans.
Our team is hard at work on E3, we look forward to sharing with all who love to play what’s ahead for us. Our artform has consistently been propelled by the cross-section of creativity and technical progress. 2020 is a milestone year in that journey for Team Xbox. #XboxE3 #E32020

With the Xbox Series X coming out for the 2020 holiday season, it will likely be a big part of the Microsoft E3 2020 presentations. We could also end up seeing more of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.
E3 2020 will be held June 9-11, 2020 in Los Angeles. In other news, the ESA made a statement about Sony’s decision to skip this year’s show that discussed “activations” and never actually mentioned Sony.
