Atlus revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 the first ever trailer for the long awaited RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio, the official name for Project Re Fantasy. The game is directed by previous Persona series director Katsura Hashino. It is the first project of Atlus’ Studio Zero, which formed in 2016. Composer Shoji Meguro is in charge of the music. The Japanese official website for the game is now available as well.

The trailer opens up with images of modern-day Tokyo along with the caption “What if the world we live in today is their utopia?” The game will be a turn-based RPG, and it seems like there will some sort of class system as well. The game seems to share a lot of daily life and bond creation elements with the Persona series.

Project Re Fantasy is now Metaphor: ReFantazio, and it is currently in development for the Xbox Series X and Windows PC at Atlus’ Studio Zero. It will appear sometime in 2024. The game might also appear in other platforms.
