Before Konami made NES games they were a key MSX developer. Parodius and Metal Gear originated on the system and you’ll be able to play the games that started those series if you have a Japanese Wii soon.
Over the coming months, Konami will release thirteen MSX games on Virtual Console.
What games? These games.
Metal Gear
Yie-Ar Kung Fu: Counterattack of the Emperor
Space Mambo
Penguin Adventure
Road Fighter
Parodius
Contra
Gradius 2
Salamander
Quarth
Knightmare
Gofer no Yabou: Episode 2
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
Sure, you may own a Metal Gear and Salamander. Maybe even Gradius 2 too, but the MSX versions are typically different. Sometimes, in the case of Contra, thought to be horrible conversions. Each slice of video game history, good or glitchy, costs 800 Wii Points ($8).
