The Mega Man Battle Network OST consists of 281 tracks from the series seven Game Boy Advance titles. In addition to all six mainline games, the OST also includes music from Mega Man Battle Network 4.5: Real Operation, the spinoff exclusively released in Japan where the players themselves become NetOperators and directly interact with NetNavis like MegaMan.EXE and Roll.EXE.

The Battle Network series primarily consisted of six mainline 2D action RPGs on Game Boy Advance. The titles have an interconnected story that tells the tale of Lan Hikari and his NetNavi MegaMan.EXE throughout all six years in grade school.

The series first game appeared in 2001. The conclusion titles — Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cybeast Gregar and Cybeast Falzar — released in Japan in November 2005 and the West in June 2006. Capcom and Nintendo also brought the entire series to the Wii U Virtual Console.

In 2020, Capcom expressed interest in celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Battle Network series in 2021. It tried gathering licensing partners to release merchandise related to the franchise both inside and outside Japan. In November 2020, Kotobukiya revealed that it is working on MegaMan.EXE model kits.
