McDonald’s Japan has launched a new advertising campaign that parodies the popular Touhou Project song Marisa Stole The Precious Thing by IOSYS. The campaign promotes the Samurai Mac Triple Thick Beef Burger, with a reimagined version of the 2006 song, complete with new lyrics and visuals inspired by McDonald’s.

The song parody, shared on McDonald’s Japan’s official Twitter, credits IOSYS and Touhou Project’s ZUN for their collaboration. Miko, known for her work on Touhou Project songs, performs the parody. The commercial’s style combines the original Marisa Stole The Precious Thing aesthetics with McDonald’s imagery, altering the lyrics to focus on the Samurai Mac Triple Thick Beef Burger. This mirrors previous campaigns and showcases a continued effort by McDonald’s Japan to draw inspiration from Japanese pop culture.
