McDonald’s Japan announced on social media the release of a new limited-time line of perfume that smells like McFries. There will be three different fragrances (or flavors) available, and these are plum nori seaweed salt, garlic black pepper mayo seasoning, and regular salted McFries.
At the time of writing, there is no information on when the perfumes will release nor how much they will cost. Each bottle will have a different design and shape, with the McFries fragrance imitating the iconic red and yellow package design, and the plum nori seaweed salt and garlick black pepper mayo fragrances replicating the design of the Shaka Shaka Potatoes.
The Shaka Shaka Potatoes are exclusive to McDonald’s Japan, and they are named like this because of the sound the bag makes when shaking it to spread the various flavored seasonings available. McDonald’s Japan revealed the new perfume on their X (formerly Twitter) official account.
Despite the surreal angle of the post, the McDonald’s Japan X account has been reliable on informing about new collaboration and releases, and there is no reason to believe that this post could be a joke. You can take a better look at the McDonald’s Japan french fry perfume bottles here:
McDonald’s Japan is well known for releasing all kinds of collaborations and Happy Meal toys. The company’s latest collaboration includes Kirby and Pompompurin Happy Meal toys, and the company recently revealed that it has run out of Kirby toys earlier than expected. Other recent collaborations include a Spy x Family Happy Meal set, a Christmas 2023 collaboration with Fate/Grand Order, and the celebration of Hello Kitty’s 50th Anniversary.
